Regina General Hospital

The Regina General Hospital (RGH) Moms & Kids program provides medical care for children and patients during pregnancy and childbirth.

Pediatric Care

Our 28-bed pediatric unit is on the 4th floor of RGH. A team of health-care professionals treats children ages 17 and under. This unit also includes four high acuity beds for advanced care that doesn’t require a full intensive care unit.

Our 25-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers a high level of care for newborns who require extra support. This unit also has a Neonatal Transport Team available 24/7.

Our Pediatric Outpatient Department offers surgical clinics and pediatric specialty clinics with doctors visiting from the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH).

We care for pediatric surgical patients requiring orthopedic, plastics, ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat), neurological and general surgeries. Surgical cases that we commonly see are tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, appendectomies, closed and open reductions of fractured limbs, cleft lip and palate reconstruction, shunt revision and placement of gastrostomy tubes.

Our goal is to provide high-quality care. We believe in caring for children without making them feel scared or intimidated.

Maternal Care and Women’s Services

We offer care for patients before and after the delivery of a baby. A team of health-care professionals treats and assesses the maternal patient and their infants.

Our services include:

  • 8-bed labour and birth unit
  • 6-bed triage and assessment area
  • 2 dedicated maternal operating rooms
  • 36 bed antepartum and postpartum unit
  • Fetal assessment clinic that supports our maternal-fetal medicine program
  • Early pregnancy assessment unit

Supporting Services

The Moms & Kids Program in Regina is proud to have a dedicated Social Work team that is specialized in the care of parents and children.  They are available Monday to Friday.

The Rawlco Hostel provides rooms for parents of babies in the NICU who are far from home. This service is accessed through our Social Work team.
